Park Forest South Aviation GroupGlider Rides: All introductory flights are given by commercial glider pilots licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). We operate primarily on weekends from April through November, weather permitting. To check if we will be flying on any particular day, please call us the night before to schedule a glider ride. Please contact us to schedule an introductory flight today! Schedule one for yourself, a friend or a loved one. It will be an experience of a lifetime and they make great gifts! Read what others have said about their soaring experience here Flight Instruction: Instruction is given by our cadre of FAA-certified flight instructors. The FAA places no age requirement on when you may begin learning to fly. An FAA-certified medical examination is also no longer required. Hours logged as flight time in a glider also count towards more advanced ratings in glider as well as other aircraft categories such as airplanes and jets. Once you have attained your private pilot certification, you may conduct your own flights and carry passengers in the glider. The minimum FAA requirements for solo flight and private pilot licensing (pilot certification) are as follows**:
